One of the most common clients I meet with are ones making money “on-the-side”. Whether it be baseball lessons, babysitting, etc. I try dig a little deeper to find out if they are making a profit or a loss.
9 times out of 10, I find out that these clients haven’t been reporting this income to the IRS.
I’d also say 9 out of 10 are surprised by my reaction! Obviously, it’s my legal duty to tell them they “must claim all income..”
