I worked a couple of events for a company last year, didn’t make a very much money with them, should I expect a W-2?

If you were contracted work, you are only due a 1099 if you make over $600 (they may send you one if you make less, but it’s not regular practice). If you were a W-2 employee, meaning you filled out a W-9 and they took out withholding’s for you, then you will get a W-2 from them.

Is there a minimum amount that I have to make before an employer has to provide a W-2?

There is NO minimum amount you have to have made to receive a W-2. Every employee a company pays will get a W-2 whether it’s $1 or $1,000.
